I am totally fine with grinding. The 100 world event requirement does not bother me in the least bit, but. 25 Quickplay?I have mostly been playing in a 4 man squad and other than the challenges for the tombs almost exclusively with at least one other person I know. Currently one cannot participate in quickplay while grouped. If I meet someone in quickplay and want to continue playing with them. This completely kills the social aspect of the game. I do not want to enter 25 missions solo, and complete them with 3 randoms. Please allow quickplay in groups! The whole point of quickplay is that you’re filling in for teams in progress that are down a player. Queueing for it in groups would defeat the point and wouldn’t work very well. The game would have to look for games in progress where two or three people are missing, many people would just drop the game at that point.I’m not sure what that challenge unlocks, but unless it’s required to finish the story or something, I would assume it’s meant to be more of a “you get it eventually as you do other things” rather than “we want you to queue for freeplay 25 times in a row until you get it” type of thing. 21:00Posted by Abuse? No problems folks, just close your eyes and it's gone. /facepalm The only abuse you can receive in WoW is verbal, which can be turned off by /ignore, so yes, it goes away? What do you propose, every time someone has a fight in the chat Blizzard employees investigate and someone gets banned? Honestly, your stupidity is so obnoxious and annoying that it would make anyone's blood boil and hurl insults at you. Pfff, it's getting old son. All the fake anger. It's so childish. You don't give a tit what happens to this game. You just enjoy seeing your verbal diarrhea on a computer screen. Get a normal hobby already. 22:19Posted by - I would like for professions not to be connected to Mythic only dungeons (in the past i could level my professions to max level and obtain most of the recipes without group content) Crusader Orbs, Chaos Orbs, Disenchanting ETC was always connected with Dungeons, in fact I doubt you could even reach maximum skill of a profession without those, either by running Dungeons or buying them from Auction House. And besides I addressed this issue a thousand times unless you say ' I am a solo player, I don't like doing Dungeons but X item from my Profession is restricted by Y Mythic Dungeon and I needed because of Z' Like I said, my Warrior hasn't even completed her Alchemy stuff yet, because I don't need it, and I'm a Raider. 22:19Posted by - I would like to have quests in LFR ( i hated when i released that quest chain leads to Normal or better EN, and could not be finished in LFR, we had quests in LFR in the past, so why not again) Because that forced players like ME to do LFR, which I despise with all my being. LFR is not worthy of any reward or Quest, it's just there so you can see the content and the conclusion. Besides you can get Legendaries and Titanforged gear from that place which is already too much reward, toooooo much. I'm also beginning to think it's time to remove the restriction on guilds you can join as well. Say up the limit to five guilds. So you could have for example: 1. Guild for socializing/casual play 2. Guild for when your helping in PvP'ing 3. Guild for when you want to try out raiding with a raid guild. Guild for when you want to do say, role-playing I know some like to join and quit a guild here and there if and when they need to join a proper team be it raiding or PvP'ing and may want to join something like role-playing or a social guild as well with their main. Just having the ability to join another guild could help to battle the whole solo feeling most players have in the game. Anyways, it's just an idea. 22:50Posted by I'm also beginning to think it's time to remove the restriction on guilds you can join as well. Say up the limit to five guilds. Just like the forums, sort of, we could have a list of talks going on on the chat window, select the channel we want to join and start talking. Trial Of Valor Soloable BfaIf they wanted players to group more than the first thing they should have done was improving the social tools, which are very outdated. Even Ion admitted that. 08:36Posted by Then, u realize ur playing a MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER game. Now look up the meaning of that. It does not mean 'group content'. It means that there are lots of players in the environment at the same time. Some do what they want individually, others group together to do things. The main gist of things here that in this expansion a lot of things are gated behind having to do dungeons/raids when in the past those items were not gated in such a way. The obvious example is professions, with one exception (enchanting in vanilla), it was never required to even enter a dungeon to be able to max your profession (I know I have alts with all professions). If you wanted to make the best stuff then it became dungeon/raid time, that is a given. However in legion to get some of the basic patterns (I'm not talking about the 3rd star, I'm on about the original pattern) then its dungeon time and for some it even involves an optional boss. A lot of people run alts simply for profs, they can handle the alt to level it up to be able to work the profession, but they are not used to running dungeons with them. I'm in that boat. I am running the dungeons. I don't like them due to the go-go-go-go attitude of a lot of players and my alts get shouted at a lot and kicked for not being up to someone else standard. But I'm there because Blizzard have made so that I have to be there if I want progress professions or class campaign. Why do I want my profession to be maxed out if I don't run dungeons? Because that is what I get enjoyment out of. Alts helping alts which in turn helps the guild. People keep repeating This is a MMO, This is a MMO. I Know that Nothing is really solo in WoW. Whatever you do there is some interaction with other players, even if it's just passing by them while doing your own stuff. This being cleared i'd like to say that there are loads of people who don't like to group with others to play the game. Blizzard realized this and gave 'SOLO' players loads of stuff to do, without the need for complex interacting directly with other players. (you interact indirectly all the time, from the moment you log in, to the moment you log out) It has been like this since Cata. I don't personally consider myself a 'SOLO' player, because i do LFR, HC, Mythics, and Mythic+ dungeons, but i feel that in LEGION way more stuff is oriented towards harder group content than it was in previous expansions! I do feel that some of the stuff should be behind group content, but i think it should not exceed Heroic dungeons and LFR difficulty (the easiest end game group content in game) That being said, i feel that Profession quests, Pathfinder achevement, Raid quests should be at least made doable on HC and LFR difficulty. And as for SOLO, and new things go, i really love the fact that in patch 7.2 we will be getting harder world quests, better rewards, 860 gear tokens, scenarios, all current and new dungeons in HC mode. 23:32Posted by @Entaari You just don't get it. WoW gives us variety of things to do in game, and your play style is just one of many different ways of playing. You need to realize that there is no 'correct' way to enjoy the game, and that The way you chose to play the game IS NOT the only way that matters! Most of us are here to give feedback on OUR experience of the game, and not to judge others because of the way they play the game. I don't get it? I already told you, play whatever you want however you want to. What angers me is how people here advocate for a change in the formula that makes WoW what it is, Group Content. If you missed it, I refuted all of your points. And lastly, a lot of people have brought up how SWTOR or other MMOs actually have a Solo Campaign and small parts of Group Content, so if that's what you want why don't you play it instead of WoW? Because like I said WoW is all about Group Play! ( PvP - Arenas, Battlegrounds. PvE - Dungeons, Raids ) Like I said without Raids you cannot even see the story conclusion. 09:17Posted by I don't personally consider myself a 'SOLO' player, because i do LFR, HC, Mythics, and Mythic+ dungeons, but i feel that in LEGION way more stuff is oriented towards harder group content than it was in previous expansions! But your feeling is wrong, Mythic Dungeons are the equivalent of the Heroic Dungeons of the past. Just like Normal Emerald Nightmare, Trial of Valor and Nighthold are hilariously easy, Normal is like LFR except your Group is 10 - 15 people with a Voice Chat most likely. The content that 'Solo Players' are forced to participate in is extremely easy and fast. 09:10Posted by The obvious example is professions It's not obvious at all. Cannot delete tmp file access denied. I haven't completed my Alchemy stuff on my Warrior and I'm a Raider. Even I don't need everything from those Quests. And I get it, you don't like Dungeons and Players' attitudes, but we are talking about a 15 minute Heroic, it is so horrible that you can't even handle 15 minutes of it? You can ignore any person from the Group at any time. And like I said the past ALWAYS requires you to go to Dungeons for Professions. CRUSADER ORBS CHAOS ORBS You cannot craft the items of the Recipes to increase your Skill to maximum without those, especially not if you're an Enchanter. I also dislike that much of the content of the game has been geared towards dungeons/raids in Legion. My game progression has halted because I don't want to do dungeons/raids, I can't complete storylines, professions or class campaigns. There is no fun to doing dungeons, with being assessed, judged and found wanting according to someone else's criteria. I don't want to be rushed through a dungeon so that I don't even have time to collect the things I need for quests, there never seems to be enough time to learn the best strategies for dealing with bosses, because by the time you realise what's going on the boss is dead and nobody ever talks strategy in dungeons, so if it's the first time you've been there, you have no idea what is happening. ![]() Entaari, you ask if it's so horrible you can't handle 15 minutes of it, for me the answer is always YES, it is so horrible, it is not a pleasure, it is not fun. 08:43Posted by I totally agree, I don't do dungeons or raids, I am quite happy playing the game solo exactly as you stated, doing my proffesions and soloing dungeons when im high enough lvl, I hate legion for the fact that I can only play half the contents because I wont do dungeons and I cant get my proffessions up this is the first time wow has not catered all their customers needs, they have totally screwed those of us who just want to play the game solo When they do make an expansion for soloers (WoD with garrisons), they lose massive amounts of subs. The great majority of players want interdependence between players, that's why they play MMOs. They get their solo RPG experience in.single player RPGs. If you're so anti social that you can't even do a 5 man dungeon here and there or a 20 min face roll LFR dungeon to get those last prof recipes I really think you need to consider playing other types of games. It's like if I went on the Skyrim forums and complained that the game wasn't massively multiplayer.wouldn't you find that a little silly? Yeah, you want devs to spend time and resources on solo content for the teensy minority who complain about it on the forums and who will run it once and then be done with it. Instead of, you know, spending those resources to create group content that will be enjoyed by the masses and redone several times. Not going to happen. Endgame content is there, solo content is objectively more than ever, you simply opted to draw a line right before entering dungeons/group content and stated that that's your endgame. Enjoy doing WQs and cracking nuts, knock yourself out, just don't expect to get any rewards on par with those from 'harder' content. You don't deserve them. And you definitely don't need them, since you don't want to do anything remotely challenging. WoW always has been/will be a group-oriented pve mmo. Just because it gradually introduced more and more solo content/lfr doesn't mean hardsolo players are a majority, it's simply a QoL improvement for casuals. What is Gold?Gold is one of the main sources/currency needed in Arena of Valor to buy Arcanas and Heroes. Gold each day are very limited so it’s recommended to always get the full rewards you can find. Heroes are usually 18888 gold and Arcanas level 3 is 2000 gold each, 54000 gold needed to complete one full Level 3 Arcana page. Gold is the most important currency you will need and it will never be enough. The only ways to farm gold are only by playing the game, but I will show you how efficient you can do it. Daily Gold LimitEach day, you can only earn up to 500 gold only. You can increase the limit/cap up to 1500 gold per day by using Double Gold Card (days) and Double Gold Card (wins) with a total of 200% bonus. Because of how limited of the gold you can earn each day, it’s very important to reach the cap every day if you are trying to get full page Arcanas or Heroes. You can also buy the Double Gold Card in the Gem Shop, or get them from events. I’m currently playing on a new server, for SEA players, there isn’t any Double Gold Card in the gem shop yet, hence I’m always getting the gold limit every day! Daily Battle RewardsAnother huge source of gold you can find from here! You can find the Daily Battle Rewards in the main menu, it’s located in the bottom right of your screen. Daily Battle Rewards will only appear AFTER you have completed “Road To Glory” for new accounts and newbies. You can earn up to 540 gold just by playing 6 games. Any casual standard match is counted for this rewards, which are 5v5 Grand Battle, 3v3 Valley Skirmish, Hook Wars, Abyssal Clash, 1v1 Solo Battle and PvP Death Match. If you are looking to claim them as soon as possible, playing 1v1 Solo Battle is the fastest way in my opinion. 3v3 Valley Skirmish games are pretty fast as well. I would agree that 3v3 Valley Skirmish is more fun. Just remember, “Custom matches, bot matches and battles with AFK are not counted.”Oh yes, one more important thing, don’t forget to click “Collect on the right side”, it’s basically free 100 gold with 1 button every day. Available only when your Credibility Score is above 96, stay positive in the game, don’t be toxic, don’t flame and don’t leave the game because you are tilted or bad mood unless you have emergencies. First Win RewardsFirst Win Rewards reset every day, for every first win each day, you can get a bonus of 100 gold. Pretty simple, win a game and you are done. Level Up AchievementsYou can get a chest by leveling up, each level one chest. Increases every level. For example, my next Level 21, I can get 1300 Gold from the chest. Go claim it if you haven’t already! You can find the achievement tab in the bottom right of your screen, along with friends, messages, events, etc. FriendsYou can send gold to TEN people per day, but I am not sure how much gold you can receive minor gold resource from here, but more friends the merrier! The cap from receiving is probably 25 gold or 50 gold. Someone double confirms, let me know in the comment section! So yeah, start adding lots of active friends. Newbie RewardsMore benefits for Newbies! Pretty simple, just log in for 7 days, doesn’t have to be consecutive and it’s a permanent event. Don’t have to worry! But of course, if you want to maximize gold farming, play daily and get every gold you can find. Gold is just way too important. Death star firing sound. It’s free 1900 gold! EventsThere is always new event from time to time, don’t forget to check it! Sometimes there is an event that gives gold, gold card, etc. For example, recently there are exchange pumpkins (Halloween Event) for Gold/Gem/Trial card. Who knows if there is a new event in the future which give tons of gold? Only time can tell. Join an active Guild!By playing games, you can earn Activity Points which would be contributed into the Guild Weekly Rewards. Points contributed can increase the rewards given every week from the guild. As the screenshot stated above, my guild is currently maxed 0 activity points, which lead me to get a Level 8 Guild Chest reward which is 100 gold, 60 gems, and Hero Trial Cards x3. Be aware, you can’t achieve the highest rewards if you are in a dead, inactive or alone in the guild. Try joining some friendly guild! BreakdownHow much gold can you get per week by playing daily? (Excluding events, gold card, achievements, etc.)-Daily Gold Limit 500 x 7 = 3500-Daily Battle Rewards 540 x 7 = 3780-Friends (Let’s say 25 gold a day) 25 x 7 = 175-Guild 100 x 1 = 100Total = 7555 gold (Assuming you earned 1065 daily + Guild Chest Lv 8)Spending gold efficiently:There is no “efficiently” spending your gold, in my opinion, if you are bored, buy new heroes! If you are looking to “tryhard”, go for 1-2 heroes and start farming up your Arcanas. DO NOT BUY LEVEL 1 or 2 Arcanas, it isn’t worth it. Reach Level 30 as soon as possible to get most of your gold from achievements. It will take some time for you to farm a full level 3 Arcana or buy 18888 heroes, be patient and you will be there.UPDATE 16/1/2018The current daily gold system has been changed to weekly. Players can now gain 5500 gold weekly and new exclusive weekly chests for more gold rewards. Motivated by searching for the innovative clinical trialmethodologies to increase the clinical trial success and minimize the clinicaltrial cost, various adaptive design methods have been proposed. Initially, clinicaltrials using the adaptive designs are usually in the early phase (phase I orII) clinical trials. For phase III confirmatory clinical trials, thetraditional clinical trial methods are still dominating. Many publicationsabout using the adaptive design in late stage trials are based on retrospectiveassessment or simulation: had the original studies been done with adaptivedesign, how much cost would have been saved or a failed trial might have been rescued. After many years of education and advocate, adaptive designs with innovativemethods in phase III studies have actually been implemented and some of thetrial results start to surface. One of the examples is a trial called VALOR– a phase III, placebo-controlled,randomized, double-blind study in relapsed/refractory Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).The study adopted one of the key adaptive design features - the Sample SizeRe-estimation (SSR). The rationale behind the Sample Size Re-estimation is thatthe assumptions for designing the confirmatory trial is either not entirelyavailable or is available but with a high degree of uncertainty. This uncertainty could result in theincorrect or inaccurate estimates of sample size during the design stage. Withthe Sample Size Re-estimation, an interim analysis can be performed during themiddle of the study to re-check these assumptions. Depending on the findingsfrom interim analysis, the decision about the next step can be made. In VALOR study, the Sample Size Re-estimation was based on a PromisingZone approach. The SSR based on Promising Zone was proposed by Mehta and Pocockand described in their paper “ ”. The general idea is to start a phase III trial with thebest or better scenario with optimistic assumptions. The optimisticassumptions will require a trial with smaller sample size to start with and consequentlyrequire less commitment in resources and finance in the beginning. During thestudy, an interim analysis is performed to check the reality and to plan forthe next step with the following choices. Unfortunately, after all of these extra efforts (in adaptivedesign, DSMB, interim analysis, sample size re-estimation), the study failed anddid not reach the statistical significance for the primary efficacy endpoint.P-value just missed the magical number of p=0.05. Here is the announcement fromthe VALOR study sponsor – Sunesis Pharmaceuticals:“Sunesis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq:SNSS) today announced results from thepivotal Phase 3 VALOR trial, a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlledtrial of vosaroxin and cytarabine in patients with first relapsed or refractoryacute myeloid leukemia (AML). At more than 100 leading international sites, thetrial enrolled 711 patients, who were stratified for age, geography and diseasestatus. The trial did not meet its primary endpoint of demonstrating astatistically significant improvement in overall survival, with a medianoverall survival of 7.5 months for vosaroxin and cytarabine compared to 6.1months for placebo and cytarabine (HR=0.865, p=0.06).”. I guess that Sunesis and Cytel are now analyzing the data tosearch for the clue why the study did not meet the primary endpoint. It is verypossible that the study conduct, patient population might be different beforeand after the interim analysis. While the study team were strictly blinded to thedetails of the interim analysis results, the decision on whether or not toincrease the sample size had to be announced. This announcement could have impacton the patient characteristics or conduct of the study. Here was a discussionabout the announcement of increasing the sample size after the interim analysisat that time. It is clear the announcement of increasing the sample size havesome impacts on the financial analyst, potentially also have some impacts onthe study team / investigators in the study. When last September the Data and Safety Monitoring Board(DSMB) recommended expanding the sample size of the study based on interim datathat suggested a 'promising' outcome, vosaroxin garnered even moreinvestor attention. Valor Trial Design And Alpha Spend At the analyst meeting in October 2012, Sunesis providedan update on the adaptive design of the study that allows for a potentialone-time sample size increase of the patient population. Based on its review, the DSMB recommended the Valor study increase the sample size to 675 patientsfor a 90% statistical power to detect a 30% overall survival difference (5months versus 6.5 months) with an HR of 0.77. The DSMB concluded that theinterim data indicated a 'promising' outcome - ruling out futilityand an 'unfavorable' scenario, but falling short of a'favorable' result. Based on the nuances of statistical analysis, ruling outboth favorable and unfavorable scenarios for a promising outcome stronglysuggests that vosaroxin was closer to non-inferiority and in need of a largersample size in order to show a statistically significant treatment difference. It was a smart idea by management to utilize the first interim analysis ofValor as a proxy for a randomized Phase 2 study whereby it could betterestimate the sample size needed to demonstrate a clinical effect. Powering thestudy has thus been the main factor in influencing its 'promising'outcomeVALOR study is a well-conducted study. From the standpoint of the study implementation including the sample size re-estimation, the study is a success. However, the study failed to reach the statistical significance for the primary efficacy endpoint. In the end, the statistics is about the uncertainty. ![]() While the sample size re-estimation can reduce the uncertainty to some degree, it can not eliminate the uncertainty. We will never be able to design a study to guarantee the success.
